Several years ago, a pair of martins nested in a cavity in a Douglas
fir snag on Cady Mountain, San Juan Island. They were there for at
least two seasons during the mid-80's. I have no idea of the current
status there. This site was unusual because it was not in a box. It
was also well away from water.
