Hi, Tweets;

I thought I might introduce myself. I suppose I might be one of the
"lurkers," as I've seen those who read but rarely post described here. I am
a beginning birder/birdwatcher, so I don't have much to contribute (I was
one of those who misspelled Steller's when I did post something). But I
_do_ appreciate reading the posts, and don't feel bad at all about
"lurking" -- I'm learning a lot (I now know how to spell Steller's, e.g.),
and appreciate the repartee and off-topic humor as much as anything!

I'm preparing for a backpacking trip to Goat Rocks, and wonder if anyone
could tell me what birds I might look for. We'll be camping right off the
Pacific Crest Trail, immediately west of Goat Rocks. I know to expect
various raptors, and by a recent thread I see I can expect Red-Tailed hawks
to appear in a widely-varied range of colors/patterns (I especially noted
Don Baccus' posts describing the all-white and all-black Red Tails). Is
there a chance of seeing a Golden Eagle there?

Presently, my sole guidebook is Peterson's.

Thanks for any suggestions anyone may have,
