Looks like a late-morning low and mid-afternoon high at the point on Aug
1. The high is low enough probably not to restrict access. Water wouldn't
be to the dunes, but a snowy plover protection area has been posted and
sometimes the outside boundary is in water.

Lots of walking is necessary to cover much of the area. Sunscreen can be
essential. And drinking water.

I haven't done enough birding there to recommend many spots, but do know
that large flocks of shorebirds roost on the beach at high tides, so you
might try to time your arrival there accordingly.

If you are unfamiliar with the area, you might want to know that beach
driving is not allowed on the northernmost few miles of the peninsula. I
surmise it would be easier to begin your walk at the official NWR parking
area. Enjoy your visit, and if you see snowy plovers, watch for
color-banded birds.

I think bad puns are one of Dennis' unwritten paulsonies.
