Ahem...attention all Tweets!
Give yourselves a big pat on the back...the first annual Birding/Yakathon
was a smashing success!!
Apology to Stuart McKay...
Stuart-- Your instinct was absolutely *right* on when you suggested a
potluck..fortunately, nobody listened to my suggestion of keeping it
simple and it turned into a potluck anyway...and it was great!
Thanks for the contributions in the donor *tin*...I actually came up with
a net loss of $.08...I can eat that okay...I'll keep the leftover name
tags for the next one...(do the same, Herb..)
Speaking of which...
Mike Waller offered the use of the Zoo facility if *Tweets* want to have
a mid winter gathering..I mentioned this to Don Baccus (who was the second
person on site yesterday...) and he suggested the following:
get some money together and rent a couple or three vans and plan
a day trip to the Skagit area including Samish flats and make a day
of it in the middle of hawk migration...February is best...
or March...but, sometime when Bud Anderson isn't running his groups
as it's a good thing to keep the number of vehicles at a minimum..
(the reason for thinking vans...)
It's a good thing to be thinking about when you're getting your winter
calendars together...those of you who have birded the Skagit know what
an amazing thing it really is...
Those were suggestions...I'm sure there will be more
I enjoyed meeting all of you...I thought we were all remarkably
well-behaved..
And, yes most of you did not look like you...I thought we should have
a contest and vote to see who the person was who looked least like
him/her self...(Baccus not included because he always looks like someone
else..)
