Sometimes the flashiest birds are also some of the commonest; I put in
votes for 1) Yellow-rumped Warbler ("Audubon's") - can't beat the
blue-grey, black, and white splashed with yellow, and 2) Steller's Jay
(sorry, Michael, they are pretty amazing). For east of the crest, I'd
vote for Mountain Bluebird.
