As I returned from lunch today there was a newly fledged Glaucous-winged
Gull, with big tufts of down still attatched to its head feathers, outside
Kincaid Hall at the UW, wandering around in the foot and car traffic. It
had blackish feet and legs, with only the faintest hint of pinkish tone
when you looked closely. So evidently some GWGs still have the black
feet when they leave the nest area - this bird was quite capable of flight.
