PMJI without a quoted bit up front but thought I'd get my licks in on
several of the recent threads.

1) Tweeters is drifting off into non-birdless space.

Pure bilge. If you don't like it, delete it. Be your own moderator.

2) Listing as the evil incarnate.

Only if done to the detriment of the birds involved. What is a waste of
time or a seeming lack of appreciation for some is an exalting experience
for others. Exaltation is good for the soul.

3) An out-of-range bird is a statistically useless datapoint.

I used to think this before I took on the job as a regional editor for
Audubon. Now I realize that we know so little about our own birds let
alone someone else's lost wunderkind that any piece of information can be
valuable...if not sooner, then maybe later. This also applies to banding
birds.

4) Audubon Field Notes.

Shameless advert here. Anyone who has travelled through B.C. or Yukon
during the months of March, April or May and recorded bird sightings,
please send them to me ASAP at the e-mail address below or to any
B.C./Yukon compiler you may know. Thanks in advance.

,Jack
