Do your bit for the environment and create more habitat for shorebirds and
ducks - next time you visit Montlake Fill grab a handfull of Purple Loosetrife
and rip it up !!!!

Given my recent success at Jetty Island, Everett with (Scot's) Broom, I feel
compelled to do a bit more for native species - OK, so I'm addicted to pulling
up weeds !!!!

Its a pretty thankless task, there is lots of it, but over the next few
weeks/months/years/decades (aaarrgghghh) there will be less and less of the
purple bane of wetlands at Montlake Fill. The Centre for Urban Horticulture
have an ongoing eradication program but they are more than willing for some
"enterprising individuals" to take matters into their own hands and get rid of
the "Menace of Montlake". You can lend a hand by pulling up some of it or
even picking the flower heads off - every little helps.

See you there....

I'm sure, when I die go and to hell, I'll be in charge of planting Scot's
Broom and Loosetrife :'-((
