Dennis, thanks again for info. I was not in charge of the winter quarter
of planting/restoration, but was a member (about one generation older
than most of the others) of an
on-going quarterly class effort by the Horticulture Center to work on
"restoring" Montlake Fill. Mention was made about controversies
especially with respect to bird habitat. And priority should be given to
getting rid of/controlling the invasive brooms 'n loosestrife ASAP. It
is so labor intensive; maybe visitors should all be required to put in
some time, a few minutes, pulling out a bit of the stuff when passing
through.

I would very much like to read your reports. The Garry Oak part of the
project was suggested for the "upland" areas of the Fill, and it seemed a
great idea at the time to create natural edges to the prairie sections.
