This is undoubtedly true-- for the most part. But I know of a
guy who's seen 720+ in the Lower 48, never flown to chase a bird, and never
chased a bird more than 300 miles. Just a lot of well aimed vacations.
He's probably also a good birder who doesn't miss much.
