Hello, this is Portland Audubon Society's Rare Bird Alert. This
recording was made Thursday, June 8th. If you have anything to add,
call Harry Nehls at 233-3976.

Migrations have slowed considerably during the week, but some good
birds have been reported.

A white-rumped VARIEGATUS-type WHIMBREL was among a flock of 30
WHIMBRELS on Yaquina Bay MAY 31.

A late GREATER YELLOWLEGS was in North Portland JUN 4. A late
movement of SWAINSON'S THRUSHES, "WESTERN" FLYCATCHERS, WILLOW
FLYCATCHERS, and WILSON'S WARBLERS passed through the Portland area
during the week.

Two male and 3 female TRICOLORED BLACKBIRDS were reported from the
Forest Grove ponds JUN 6.

A male INDIGO BUNTING has been conspicuous and cooperative in
Bloomberg Park, in Eugene. To reach the park, take I-5, south of
Eugene, to exit 189. Take the frontage road on the west side of the
freeway. Turn left just north of 35th Avenue. The bird is in a
clearcut in the park.

On [JUN] 6 a male COSTA'S HUMMINGBIRD was on territory in the same
area it was in last year, across from Sawyer Park in Bend.

At least one singing LEAST FLYCATCHER was in Clyde Holliday State
Park, near Mt. Vernon, JUN 4.

Things have been slow at Malheur headquarters, but there's been
some action at Fields. On JUN 6 a BLACK-THROATED GREEN WARBLER was
reported from there. On JUN 7 a bright male TENNESSEE WARBLER was
at Fields.
