Dennis Paulson recently suggested that Western Kingbirds commonly nest in
large deciduous trees, but didn't know of any nests from conifers. Most
of the non-power-pole nests I have found in the Okanagan (i.e. Canadian
Okanogan) were in ponderosa pines. As Dennis pointed out earlier, a
strong support is what seems to be necessary, which might be why they
weren't nesting in willows in the Sinlahekin.
