The female peregrine brought to the zoo appears to be "under feathered as
well as underweight and probably wasn't ready to fledge. It was lucky,
according to Ernie Rose, that we were able to pull her when we did since she
probably wouldn't have survived given her underweight and infected condition
and we might not have been able to catch her up later if she had flown off.

X-rays indicate a significant mass in her throat which is blocking. It has
been determined to be a bacterial fungal parasitic infection which is being
treated with antibiotics. Treament is expected to last 10-14 days.

Nevertheless the 4;30 pm report is that she is responding to the fluids she
is being given and is active enough to try to bite the hands that are feeding
her. Good signs.
