NOTICE TO ALL NORTHWEST NEXUS USERS

*DOWNTIME* is scheduled for 24 June 1995 for ALL SYSTEMS

Those of you who've been keeping tabs know that about two months ago,
we moved our offices to a new and much bigger location. Now, the
second phase of our moving project is about to be completed, as we
relocate our data center to different quarters.

A move this extensive requires much coordination, and the many
subcontractors and schedules involved have resulted in not a few
sleepless nights and long days for all of us. Barring unforeseen
changes to our current schedule, however, we will be bringing *all* of
our Internet connections down starting

0600 on Saturday, 24 June 1995

This means that all Northwest Nexus services will be unavailable
starting at 6 a.m. Affected services include

Personal Shell
Personal SLIP
Personal PPP
Classic SLIP and Classic PPP
Dedicated Dialup SLIP and PPP
UUCP Service
MS-Mail Gateway Service
Frame Relay Service
Fractional T-1 Service
Dedicated Line Service

Our first priority will be to move and bring up the routers and T-1
connections in our new data center. We expect that this phase will
take most of the morning; our target is to have our Internet
connections, frame-relay connections, and dedicated lines back in
service before noontime, with the other services following as the
afternoon progresses.

We expect that all services will be operational again at 0600 the
following day, Sunday 25 June.

We will post status updates to our system status line:

1 206 453-8908

Please do not call our office numbers to inquire as to move status, as
the poor person answering that number will be at our offices and
therefore not in any better position to give you status than the status
line will be. Whenever we have scheduled downtime, there are always a
certain number of users who don't see messages like this beforehand; we
appreciate your refraining from adding to the load thereby added to our
tech support lines and voicemail.

Should we need to reschedule this downtime before the 24th arrives,
we will notify you via the same channels used for this notice.

We're looking forward to being up and running in our new data center,
and then able to offer even more products and services to meet your
Internet connectivity needs.

If you have any questions before the move, please contact me at

or post a followup article to the halcyon.general newsgroup.

Cheers.
