Don't forget the Sahuarita Tortilla factory, in the small town
of the same name just north of Madera Canyon. Homemade tamales
that are shipped to LA and even a restuarant in Conneticut
by air freight (she starts with corn, a bucket, and lime, not tortilla
masa). Their wheat tortillas are really good, I tend to despise
wheat tortillas but not her light, tasty buttermilk ones!

Yes, this is about birding. Birding is ehanced by good food.

In Portal, the store/cafe has added prefab units. Some may
have kitchens. You might check the Southwestern Arizona
Field Station, as mentioned in Lane. Cave Creek Ranch has
kitchen facilities but is expensive and our particular
cabin was dumpy, as well. I like dumpy when it equates to
cheap, but not at $90 or $100/day.
