Mike, isn't Sam Wasser working at or through the zoo? He's "King of Poop,"
as far as I know, has been studying feces of various animals to look at
stress hormones contained therein, to get some idea of the physiological
state of the animal. I know they are able to sex animals by hormones in
their feces, too. When I talked with him once a year or so ago, he was
talking about getting a sample of an animal's DNA from its feces. I don't
know if this was theoretical or confirmed.
