A singing male CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER was definitively seen by local birder
Henry Davis at about 10.15 this morning in the campus of the University of
British Columbia on Pt. Grey in Vancouver BC. The bird was last seen in a
grove of trees near the commemorative cairn on NW Marine Dr. to reach this
location, go W on West 4th Ave. to the traffic lights where the road divides
into W 4th and Marine Drive; take the right fork onto Marine Dr. The cairn
is approximately 2.5--3 km (1.5--1.8) mi beyond the traffic lights.

Parking may be a problem. Though there is a pull-out with room for about 3
cars at the cairn, but parking can be had either at the pay parking lot
under the UBC Rose Garden on Chancellor Blvd. (which is about another 300 m
along NW Marine, then turn R on Chancellor; look for the parking lot
entrance on your L about 150 m along) or at the free but probably crowded
(it's a *sunny* day) Wreck Beach parking lot at the base of the hill leading
toward the commemorative cairn.
