I have my doubts that it is the same bird as the previous record was June
1987, rather a long life for an empid. That a second individual should
discover the same spot independently is also rather amazing, however.
As far as I know the only probable breeding records are from near
Winthrop, based on presumed juvenile birds later in the season. I don't
believe a nest was ever found.
