Had a pretty good week this week doing "riparian management zone"
bird surveys in Western WA. Many of the usuals, but also a Barred owl,
six "Common" Nighthawks, two Red Crossbills, one porcupine,
a couple of Pittas (just kidding !), a W. Bluebird nest,
and a partridge in a pear tree.
Also, some very stiff legs, soaked socks, sore knee, etc..etc..
Oh, and one guy on our crew found a Goshawk nest, but won't tell any of
the rest of us where it is.

--Love those 45 degree wet slashy slopes !
