Well, when Phil Gramm finds out about them flying over the border
at Brownsville he'll have to make his fence a LOT higher!
My comment was not on the crows, but on the Brownsville dump, where
they are reliably seen.
Fortunately, they're easy to identify as separate from American
Crow (unlike the fake NW crow), as their shape and voice is different.
Fortunately, because when birding Texas with a british birder friend,
we felt really stupid going to the dump. It reeks. It's filthy.
The folks working there are crackers, and they're snickering to
your face when you wave your binoculars at them to indicate why
you're driving around the dump at 60 mph.
All for a "twitch". We heard a strange crow-like sound from about
100 yards away when we drove in, took a quick look, and got out
of there.
