Well, so the two young females are recuperating in the zoo. We definitely
wish them the best. (And thanks to Mike Waller for keeping us posted!)

Meanwhile, the rest of the WAMU Peregrine Family can be seen... all over
town! Check the hotline, 517-7363, for daily updates on their activities.
(Ruth Taylor, of FRG and SAS, does a great job of keeping the hotline up to
date.) The Westin Hotel Towers seem to be a current favorite spot.

I was at Pier 70 this afternoon at 2:25 and saw at least 2 Peregrines...
it's hard to count since they swoop and fly behind buildings, whatever.
These birds were not flying high-- they were flying at about a level with
the gulls that wing over the waterfront. In fact, one of the adults
stooped a gull--fantastic flight--wings tucked in, major diving-- and
stopped not more than a foot or two over the water. Then it just swooped
back up and flew off lazily to the northeast, over Myrtle Edwards Park.

As some of you have described today, I, too, was with a non-birder. She
usually groans when I talk about the Peregrines. But she saw these
flights today--and she was amazed! Wow! It's double-fun when you can woo
someone who's not been touched before. Great day! --EB
