Actually I'd say it's much better flower watching than bird watching, but
there are birds too, and spectacular mountain scenery.

The exit to Roslyn and Salmon La Sac is from I-90, a bit west of Cle Elum.
The paved road goes north to Salmon La Sac, then a gravel road another 10
miles to Tucquala Lake. Flowers all along this road. If you have a
DeLorme Atlas, check p. 65, A8-B8.
