Subject: Two cents' worth of sightings

Since I read some Heermann's Gull dates in other posts, thought I'd
mention 2 at Westport on 13 June.
Today, 30 June, Westport Spit was free of all shorebirds save 2 killdeer at
low tide. But on South Beach near Heather I saw 2 whimbrel disappear into
shore-hugging fog.
At least I think they were whimbrels. Really didn't see them well enough
in that fog to eliminate bristle-thighed curlew ;)
