For a start, we can vote for people who think that nature is worth
protecting even it does cost money, and vote against those who do not.
It is curious that polls keep telling us the majority of Americans
consider themselves "environmentalists," but the majority of Americans
who voted in the last election chose anti-environmental candidates
(such as our own Linda Smith and Slade Gorton, to name but two).
