Hello, this is Portland Audubon's Rare Bird Alert. This recording was
made Thursday, March 2nd. If you have anything to add, call Harry

The immature female YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER at Barb Bellin's yard in Salem
continues to be seen.

A BARRED OWL was reported from Baskette Butte Trail at Baskette Slough refuge
FEB 26. A LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE was seen on the refuge that day. Several thousand
DUNLINS and other shorebirds have been on the refuge lately.

Large numbers of TREE SWALLOWS are in the Willamette Valley now, along with a
small number of VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOWS with them, and a few TURKEY
VULTURES are now moving in.

A male CINNAMON TEAL was south of Forest Grove FEB 25.

The HARRIS' SPARROW is still coming to a feeder in Albany, along with 3 WHITE-
THROATED SPARROWS.

A BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON roost has recently been found in Eugene.

A SAY'S PHOEBE and a LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE were in Wasco Co. FEB 26. That
day a migrant flock of 24 WESTERN BLUEBIRDS were near Friend.

On FEB 25 a bright white GLAUCOUS GULL was observed flying west down the
Columbia River from Arlington to Beyond Rufus. That day a GRAY-CROWNED
ROSY-FINCH was on the cliff faces along I-84 just west of Arlington.

Tuesday March 7th is Birder's Night at Portland Audubon. Meet in Audubon House at
7:30 PM for an interesting evening sharing bird information.
