BT Pigeon habitat, I sort of cringed after I knee-jerked the other night
and stated I believed there was an association between bigleaf maples and
BT Pigeons. I should have stated it "seemed to me that the fading out of
maples as one proceeds east in the Columbia Gorge may have something to do
with BT Pigeons not being found east of that zone." I also should have
further stated it is likely there is a whole complex of plant species
associated with favored pigeon habitat. I think I'll keep away from such
speculation...tis dangerous! The scientists cry for DATA!!! I have none,
just the observations of a birder criss-crossing the Northwests many
vegetation zones.
