John called me yesterday to report an amazing sighting on Jetty Island
March 7, an Arctic Tern! He also reported a conversation with a long
time Everett resident (not a birder) who recalled seeing a large colony
of what could well have been Arctic Terns on Jetty Island in the 1950s
(long before their "discovery" in 1978). Does anyone know any way to try
to confirm the possibility that the terns have been nesting at Everett
for much longer than has been officially documented to date?
