The hard work became considerably less hard last Saturday. John Flavin has
managed to get a tractor - flown over to the island courtesy of the Army and a
couple of really neat extractor tools which can rip up an entire Broom bush
in one pull.

The area is looking really good and is being prepared (raking up branches and
grass) for the gravel, which will form a bed for the main nesting area.

No sign of the Arctic Tern, but Kestrel, Northen Harrier and Western
Meadowlark were seen.

There is a rumor that a tri-colored blackbird will be on the island next
Saturday. So if you don't want to miss it, phone John (744 0805) ;-))
