Hello, this is Portland Audubon's Rare Bird Alert. This recording was
made Thursday, March 9th. If you have anything to add, call Harry
Nehls at 233-3976.

The immature YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER continues to be seen at Barb
Bellin's house in Salem.

A male BLUE-WINGED TEAL was in Tillamook MAR 4. The same day a SHORT-
EARED OWL was near the Bayocean parking lot.

Also on MAR 4 a 2nd year GLAUCOUS GULL was at the Fred Meyer's store
in Cornelius. The next day one was at Westmoreland Park in Portland.

On MAR 3 a SAY'S PHOEBE was at the Timber Lake Job Corps Center on
the upper Clackamas River. A close group of 5 WESTERN GULLS were on
the Columbia River in North Portland MAR 5. Four GREATER SCAUP were
on the Forest Grove ponds MAR 6. A [COMMON] RAVEN was on Sauvie Island
MAR 3. Two were south of Forest Grove on MAR 4.

Large flocks of TREE SWALLOWS were in the state during the week along
with smaller numbers of VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOWS.

A RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD was in Portland MAR 4.

A large flock of GRAY-CROWNED ROSY-FINCHES are still at Smith Rock
State Park. They were seen on the south side of the rocks last weekend.
The pair of PRAIRIE FALCONS there are now back on territory.
