northeastern Oregon bird hotline for Friday, March 18, 1995.

Mike Denny reports 16 DUNLIN on the Walla Walla River Delta on
March 11. The delta is just north of the junction of US 730 and
US 12 in western Walla Walla County. Mike also reports 4 GLAUCOUS
GULLS at the poop piles just north of Wallula that same day.
Three birds were second year and one was an adult. See Washington
DeLorme p. 40, d-1.

Mike Denny observed a BARN OWL in the wildlife area below McNary
Dam on March 11 as well as a NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWL. If you're
interested in the Saw-whet, call Mike at 509-529-0080. McNary Dam
is on Washington DeLorme p. 29, a-6.

Jeff Wisman also had a BARN OWL on March 12 on the Saltese Flats
southeast of Spokane. The bird was near the interection of 32nd
Avenue and Saltese Lake Road. See Washington DeLorme p. 89, c-8.

Jeff also saw 3 AMERICAN TREE SPARROWS near Lower Pine Lake in
Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge south of Cheney on March 12.

Claire Wiser reports BLACK-BACKED and WHITE-HEADED WOODPECKERS
about 5 miles up from Troy, Oregon along Eden Road. See Oregon
DeLorme p. 87, a-6.5.

Finally, John and Amy Roberson saw SAY'S PHOEBE and TOWNSEND'S
SOLITAIRE west of Pullman on March 12. The birds were near Union
Flat Creek, Hamilton Road and Enman Road. See Washington DeLorme
p. 57, b- and c-6.
