In answer to Jerry Tangren's comments about his wintering juncos perhaps
coming from Yukon--not so with the majority of them. Only "slate-colored"
breed north of north-central BC. Presumably most of your "Oregon" juncos,
Jerry, as Roger Peffer mentioned, are coming from the nearby mountains or
equally likely from the north of you in the BC interior. All are
presumably _Junco hyemalis montanus_, which doesn't look that different
from _J. h. shufeldti_ west of the Cascades.
