I just received the recent volume of _North American Bird Bander_. The
"Significant Encounters" article had 3 notes of birds banded elsewhere
and recovered in Washington, and one Wash band recovered elsewhere.

Mallard 847-45837 Banded as U-M (Unknown age, Male) by Randy Hill at
the Columbia NWR, Othello, WA on 22 Jan 1974. Shot at Shoal Lake, AB in
Sept 1992. *At least 18 years old.*

Blue-winged Teal 865-84933 Banded as HY-F (Hatching-year Female) near
Seaforth, ON on 27 Aug 1991. Trapped by Randy Hill at the Columbia NWR,
Othello, WA on 31 Jul 1992, *about 3000 km W of banding site.*

Sharp-shinned Hawk 1443-65753 Banded as AHY-F (After hatching-year) by
Carol McIntyre at Dry Lake, AK on 21 Sep 1991. Released alive after
capture at Ellensburg WA on 4 Oct 1991.

Rufous Hummingbird t52675 Banded as HY-M by Tom Wood at Ramsey Canyon,
AZ on 21 Sep 1991. Killed by striking window at Silver Lake WA on 24 May
1992, *at least 2000 km NW of banding site.*
