Once I saw large numbers of Black Swifts on Mt. Constitution on Orcas
Island; I don't recall anyone mentioning this locality yet. Like Gene,
I've also seen the at Cape Flattery, and I think the sea cliffs there would
be a great place for nesting. I also think they nest widely along the
Cascades, as I've seen them foraging at one time or another at the lower
end of just about all the canyons coming out of the east side of the
Cascades from Kittitas Co. north. I assume they drop into the lowlands
nearest to their montane breeding colonies, but I suppose they might move
north and south along the foot of the mountains too, confusing the issue.
