I was quite impressed with our Bird Talk phone in guest last night who
quoted some staggering statistics about domestic cat predation..the
numbers are mind boggling.. 60 million cats x an average of 14 bird each
per year..argh-h-h.. I'm not a scientist, but I am a media specialist
and I'm interested in the Public Relations aspect of this. Clearly, when
one of my best friends, a biologist-ecologist-environmentalist tells me he
kept records on his 3 cats who averaged a bird every 5 days each in their
prime, we have a real problem. So, I'm interested if anyone knows of
community programs designed to educate people on why they should keep
their kitties under control.

I realize this could start a long thread and since I'll be out of town for
a week, you might consider sending the info directly to me rather than
clog up the net.

Thanks.
