Bruce, I wouldn't be surprised if all gulls fly at night, and I would guess
that some or all of them are able to feed then. But I don't think much is
known about the details of what they are doing, how far they fly, if in
fact all species do it (I really have no idea), and if only under certain
conditions. I remember once staying in the Sylvia Hotel in Vancouver (a
delightful place to stay, by the way, right next to Stanley Park) and
watching gulls fly by in the light of the street lights until quite late
(although I'm not usually up until 2.....). I remember seeing gulls at
night when I lived in Miami, too.
