Neil, how much does your "palmtop" field-note taker cost? Both Apple and
Sony have produced tiny machines that will plug into Macintoshes, but
they're in the $600 range, somewhat more expensive than a 4x6" looseleaf
notebook, which is what I use. Don't get me wrong; if I had the money, I'd
have one of 'em today. Well, I do have the money, but there are too many
books I need and too many countries I haven't visited yet. I'm looking
forward to the day when the palmtops cross the $200 line. By then they'll
be even more useful than they are today, probably with song-recognition
software.
