Just to confirm that the Spring migration has hit Vancouver, there were five
Mountain Bluebirds (2M, 3F) and a Swallow (Tree or Violet-green) at Colony
Farm on Saturday.

Colony Farm is in Port Coquitlam about 20 miles downstream from Central
Vancouver on the Fraser River. In the past 15 years there has been
tremendous residential development in the area and I can only hope that the
remaining floodplain area remains untouched. Fortunately, the Government of
BC has designated 17 hectares of the land as a Wildlife Management Area and
local Naturalist clubs are urging that regulations be passed to legally
protect the area.
