Can anyone point me toward info on the "current taxonomic status" of the
Cackling Canada Goose? I realize it is considered a subspecies of Canada
Goose, but I'm wondering what the evidence is regarding interbreeding
between Cackling and other subspecies, etc., and whether any modern
phylogenetic work is being done on these populations.

Six Cackling Canadas were at Montlake this past Sunday (26 Mar). Two had
white partial neckbands.
