Stellar's Jay behavior:

Rapidly jumping from limb to limb on a tree, sometimes upward, sometimes
random/downward. Sometimes alone, somtimes in pairs. Often spiraling
around the tree in the process. Often landing on ten limbs in five seconds.

I've occasionally seen Stellar's Jays in this type of behavior for many
years, but it occurred to me a couple of days ago that I have no idea why
they are doing it. Is this part of their courtship behavior?
