While conducting Beginner's Birding trips in the Columbia Basin of Washington,
we have noted two N. Goshawks this spring, both unprecedented in my experience.
1 imm. on 19 March was amidst big sagebrush west of Coulee City in Douglas
County. The other was 29 April flying north over the Saddle Mountain crest in
Grant County. Nov-early Feb out in the basin...maybe, but March and late April?
Truly unusual.
