Hello, this is Portland Audubon's Rare Bird Alert. This recording was
made Thursday, April 20th. If you have anything to add, call Harry

A full adult male TUFTED DUCK was found during the week, first on
Meares Lake, then on the Bay City sewage ponds over the weekend. On
APR 17 another male TUFTED DUCK was at the boat basin at Cascades
Locks, in the Columbia River Gorge.

25 WHIMBRELS were at Yaquina Bay APR 16. A LONG-BILLED CURLEW was
at Tillamook Bay that day. BRANT, SURF SCOTERS, and COMMON LOONS
were migrating in numbers just offshore.

BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLERS and HOUSE WRENS moved into the state
in good numbers during the last weekend.

An early NORTHERN ORIOLE was reported in North Portland APR 13.
A YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD was on Sauvie Island APR 14.

Two EARED GREBES have been at the Forest Grove ponds all week.

A late GLAUCOUS GULL remains at the pellet plant on Sauvie Island.

A KILLDEER protecting 2 chicks was near Canby APR 13.

A WHIMBREL was at Ankney refuge, near Salem, APR 16.

A TRICOLORED BLACKBIRD was at Hood River APR 8.

The [NORTHERN] MOCKINGBIRD at Sisters continues to be seen in
the close territory it has set up.
