I'll double Victor's earlier note of thanks to Gene Hunn. I've relied on
Gene's good information when advising Victoria birders who were heading south
into Washington (actually, mostly east from here), and for spreading the word
about rarities that have appeared on Vancouver Island. I know how many hours
one can spent operating a Rare Bird Alert. Thanks, Gene.

Russell, I look forward to continued exchange of exceptional sightings.

Now, let's can this office stuff and get out to find a vagrant...or even
a life bird.

Speaking of which, thanks to Don Cecile of Port Alberni for alerting tweeters
to the possible BLACK-TAILED GODWIT at Tofino Inlet. I've just checked
again with Rory Patterson of Tofino. No one has contacted her today (May 8)
with further sightings, but competent birders were on their way to try to
relocate the bird. More later.

And in West Vancouver, a feeder watch is on to try to comfirm the ID of a
bird thought possibly to be a BLUE-THROATED HUMMINGBIRD. Again, more
later...if it should return.
