Velpar L Dupont (Hexazinone)

PROPERTIES: White crystalline solid, water soluble.
ACTION: Contact & residual herbicide.
USE: Apply when plants actively growing for control of many annual,
biennial and perennial weeds and woody plants on noncropland areas. Gives
contact and residual control. Rainfall is needed for soil
activation. Controls woody plants in reforestation areas (site
preparation or conifer release; selective weed control in conifers....
HAZARDS: LC50 (lethal concentration at which 50% of test organisms
die) 320-420 mg/l (96hr) rainbow trout. Bee: nontoxic.
TOXICITY: 5278 mg/kg (applied to skin, rat). Corrosive,causes
irreversible eye damage. Classified as eye irritant.
HANDLING & STORAGE: Do not apply directly to water or wetlands. *Do
not apply where runoff is likely to occur.*
FIRST AID: Get medical aid. Eyes,Skin: flush with plenty of water.
May irritate eyes, nose, throat, and skin. Inhalation: avoid
breathing dust or spray mist.
