The best tapes in my opinion are those produced for British Columbia birds,
a series of 3 tapes that include the majority of BC breeding
birds--excellent quality and our Northwest (Southwest) dialects. I think
there is a misidentified Empidonax or two, but now I've forgotten the
details (help, Dick).

Eventually we'll all have field CD players in which you can immediately go
to the song in question, but for now the tapes are quite adequate, if you
listen to them a lot and become sufficiently familiar with the species
sequences that you can find them readily for checking.
