To anyone that's interested...

Costco currently has Bushnell (Bausch & Lomb) 10x50 binoculars for $39.99.

To be honest, I cannot tell any difference in quality between this
binocular and my $250 Wuest. They are not quite as clear as the $500+
binoculars I've looked at.

The Bushnell's are a little heaver that others that cost $200+ but are half
the weight of my 12x50's.

My only complaint with the Bushnell's is they use a "toggle" bar rather
than a thumb wheel to focus. After using them for awhile the toggle bar
seemed to be easier to move. I don't know if it "freed" up or if I just got
used to it. It does take a finger from both hands to operate.

Sometimes I need to steady the binoculars by holding on to the far end.
With a thumb wheel you only need to move one hand to adjust the focus, with
the toggle bar it takes both hands, disturbing your sight line.

If you need an inexpensive binocular I recommend you pick this one up.

Take care,
Bruce
