Thanks to Paul Moorehead's excellent directions I found the field where
he saw nine trumpeters. I am happy to say that his nine have become over
100! I watched for over an hour as flights of 3 to 5 birds flew and
trumpted their way from one side of the field to the other. Far more
rewarding than chasing and not seeing a small yellow vireo. Although
that was a great way to meet Tweeters in the field. We need to get Tweeters
patches, pins, or caps on these "birds" to insure that they are not
miss identified.

I saw no obvious banding. On the swans not the Tweeters. How are these
swans normally banded?

No birds on Beaver Lake off Hwy. 9 other that the 10 ducks and grebes
that some "hunter" had shot and dumped in the reeds. What can I say.
