Subject: Thrush in the parking lot

Yesterday on my way from one building to another I was treated to a very
close view of a thrush on the ground in the parking lot of our building.
Reflecting on this I decided that the bird was probably in some distress;
perhaps it hit a window or was cold stressed. I would assume from the date
and range maps I have seen that it had to be a Hermit Thrush although I did
not note the rufous tail noted in the Nat'l Geo. guide. In the woodland
buffer behind our building at work we have a lot of bird species but this
was one I had not seen before. Any thoughts?
