Our field station, Cano Palma Biological Station, on thenortheastern coast of Costa Rica will be participating in the National Audubon Society's annual Christmas Bird Count Dec. 16-Jan. 2. We invite you to participate in the CBC and offer a special rate of $30/day including dormitory-style accommodation and three Costa-Rican style meals. We have electricity and running water with basic but comfortable facilities. We are located on the Cano Palma river, within the tropical rainforest, a half-hour boat ride away from the small village of Tortuguero, and are on the migratory flyway of many birds. It is truly a birder's paradise.
Cano Palma Biological Station is administered by a Canadian registered charity and is committed to rainforest conservation through education and research. Our current projects include a bird banding and monitoring project in affiliation with Universidad Nacional inSanJose.
