Is this optical or digital image stabilization? On my Canon vidcam the
image stabilization is optical (one of the reasons I bought Canon), in that
the lens "floats" freely in some way so it is actually protected from my
hand jitters and gives a steady image. Digital stabilization involves
"freezing" the image digitally, which produces some loss of brightness and
definition in the vidcams I looked at.
