Hi Tweeters,
I'm a birder still actively building a life list and have belonged to Tweeters
for only a couple of weeks. In this time, I don't ever remember seeing a
listing that asked for help locating a particular species (other than the
rarities that show up). I'm always asking friends to help me locate common birds
that I've not yet had the pleasure of seeing. I know there is some disdain for
a birder who just tries to pad his/her list. However, that adrenaline rush of
seeing a species for the first time is very alluring for me. Is there a written
or unwritten rule about soliciting advise on "Tweeters"? Am I in breech of any
etiquette rules here? Is there resistance from some of you? If I asked advise
on the best places to owl, would that be OK? I'm a biology teacher and very
environmentally conscious. I'm not a raving bird psycho. I just want to see
MORE BIRDS!!
